Saunders back with the Urchins

George Saunders returns to Hornchurch

Hornchurch have just announced the return to the club of George Saunders from Dagenham & Redbridge. He is the first signing for new Urchins boss Steve Morison.

George, a winger, came through the youth system at Billericay Town before joining Harold Hill. He moved on to play for Kelvedon Hatch before being spotted by Hornchurch, moved up four levels, and was an instant success, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet after debuting at the start of the 2018-19 campaign- the Urchins first in the Premier Division following their North Division title win.

He was snapped up by National League Dagenham just before the 20-21 season, and signed a new contract last summer despite a terrible double leg break in February of that year. Now fit once more, it will be exciting to see him back in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier as the Urchins look to ensure promotion following two 'nearly' campaigns.
