Shot of the Season: Daisy Spiers

By Ian Townsend

We asked our fabulous photographers to pick their favourite photograph of the Pitching In Isthmian campaign, and explain why it’s important to them. Daisy is new to the snappers game, and she’s made a fantastic start

Shot of the Season: Daisy Spiers

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

Binfield vs Tonbridge Angels in the FA Cup - September 17, 2022. Binfield beat a team two league above them 4-0.

Why is it important to you?

This photo is important to me because it was the first game I had photographed and it was published in several publications including local newspapers and the club website. It gave me the inspiration to carry on.

Where can we find the rest of your work?

The rest of my work on football photography can be found here.

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

I got inspired to start football photography because I have chosen photography for GCSE and my Dad thought it would be helpful if I started practicing more outside of lessons, also my Dad has been a photographer for around 18 years and he had a camera available and he inspired me more to work extra hard on my photography for Binfield.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

My hopes for the upcoming season are to get the best atmospheric photos that I can because when people are at football games no one really takes into detail the supporters.
