Shot of the Season: George Purvis

By Ian Townsend

We asked our fabulous photographers to pick their favourite photograph of the Pitching In Isthmian campaign, and explain why it’s important to them. George is a photographic Yachtsman!

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

It was taken on 14/02/23 during Lowestoft Town v Wroxham FC.

Why is it important to you?

This shot is important to me because it captures the most bizarre game I have seen with Wroxham- and the confused Lowestoft keeper (Luke Holt) who couldn’t see outside of his box!

Where can we find the rest of your work?

You can find my other pictures on instagram @geopur.football and on twitter @GeoPur1881.

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

I first started photographing football matches last year when i combined my love for football and photography.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

Hopefully next season i will be able to photograph Wroxham fighting for a playoff spot!
