Swifts honour their heroes

Another set of annual awards, and some very deserving winners- but each of them has now left the club

Heybridge Swifts are the latest club to announce their end of season award winners via a virtual ceremony, and Alex Teniola, newly departed for Chelmsford City, was the big winner- but he didn't have it all his own way.

Teniola picked up three gongs, winning the Players’ Player of the Season, the Golden Boot, and the Goal of the Season. The Golden Boot came for his twenty three goals, and the Goal of the Season award for his strike against Felixstowe and Walton United on August Bank Holiday Monday- which suddenly seems an awful long time ago.

The Supporters Player of the Season Award, voted for via an online poll, went to Evans Kouassi. Evans notched ten goals in his thirty five appearances last season- but last night tweeted that he was leaving the club, although we don't know where he is going.

Finally, the Young Player of the Year prize was awarded to Jayden Randell. Defender Jayden was announced as another player leaving the club last month, and after thirty seven appearances last season he will be missed.
