Tags into the top ten after doing a Wands double

By Ian Townsend

Hashtag United make it three wins in a row with victory at Cray Wanderers

With only one win from their previous six, Cray Wanderers were hoping to get back to winning ways as Hashtag United came to call- but instead the resurgent Tags continued their fine form, a third win in a row and only one defeat from ten.

The visitors took the lead on twenty one minutes, Sakariya Hassan ending a flowing move involving Sam Cornish and Matt Wooldridge to fire home from the edge of the box. Just before half time, Luke May-Parrott- who scored against the Wands in December- repeated the feat for his fourteenth of the season, finishing off a quick break for his side by placing the ball into the top corner.

The hosts got back into the match fifteen minutes from time, Tom Bonner halving the arrears from close range, but Wands chances of rescuing a point ended in added time, Pedro Carvalho set up by Percy Kiangebeni to make it three-one, and to send the Tags up to tenth.

The Wands are eleven points further back, in fourteenth, and should have only one more home match at Hayes Lane- against Bognor Regis Town on Saturday 20th April- before starting next season at their new ground, Flamingo Park.
