Matthew Price back with Heybridge Swifts

Heybridge Swifts have moved quickly to fill the gap created by the departure of Ross Wall to Brentwood Town, by bringing back a fan favourite, Matthew Price.

Striker Matthew has most recently been plying his trade in the Premier Division for Billericay Town, where he played fifteen times and scored two goals. He started the campaign with Brentwood Town, where he has scored four goals in eleven appearances.

Matthew had a magnificent 2021-22 season for Canvey Island, scoring thirty two times- including the equaliser in the Play Off Final against the club he subsequently joined in the summer.

He was previously with Coggeshall Town, East Thurrock United, and- of course- Swifts, where he scored twenty two goals in 2018-19, and thirty six the season before (half for Brentwood, coincidentally), winning the Golden Boot. He previously played for Horsham and Tooting & Mitcham United.
