Third time lucky for Seasiders and Stow?

By Ian Townsend

Cross your fingers and pull on your lucky pants, and- just perhaps- we might have a critical Pitching In Isthmian North promotion clash this evening!

After two postponements, we very much hope that Felixstowe and Walton United welcome Stowmarket Town tonight in a match which is critical to the Pitching In Isthmian North promotion race. The Seasiders are four points away from fifth spot with two games in hand; whilst Stow are a point above them and will replace Grays Athletic in fifth should they triumph at the seaside.

Both sides have lost form at a critical point. The Seasiders have won only two of their last seven matches, whilst Stow, after delivering a perfect match and winning all three of our monthly awards, have lost every match they’ve played in April- three defeats in a row. Neither side can really afford to lose this one, and even a draw wouldn’t be a good result- particularly for Stow, who would only have two games to go. When the two sides met on January 2nd, three early goals for the Seasiders gave them a three-two win.

The forecast looks promising, here's to some April football without the showers!
