Eastbourne Town's touchline team is in place for the new season ahead of the Ryman League outfit's return to pre-season training on Tuesday.

The Ryman South's Town announced on Monday that manager Ady Colwell will be assisted by former Hastings United assistant manager Ryan Light as his new head coach.

Light, who has also managed Sussex County League side Rye United, has switched from neighbours Eastbourne United AFC where he held a similar position last season.

Chris Dicker and Mark Lynch have also joined the club as assistant coaches while Sam Reed has been confirmed as their keeping coach for the coming season at the Saffrons.

Town have also confirmed the appointment of Steve Elliott, pictured, as club captain for the new season. Elliott was the mainstay of Town's team in recent seasons and for the last two years has been the overwhelming supporters' choice as their 'Player of the Season'.

Chairman David Jenkins said: "I am particularly pleased that Steve has accepted this vital role within the team. He has been a wonderful player for Town and is extremely popular both on and off the pitch.

He added: "I know how seriously he will take his responsibilities as captain and I am sure he will lead the team to a successful season."
