Tuesday's Ryman North action review

By David Watters

Third-placed Thurrock had to be content with a point from their visit to Brightlingsea Regent's North Road in Ryman North on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

In a game that was a fine advert for the league, the visitors took a 13th minute lead with a long-range effort from Remi Sutton. Ten minutes later and Thurrock doubled their advantage when Charlie Cole headed home a David Cowley cross.

Jake Clowesley pulled a goal back for Regent four minutes before the break to give them hope. And the home side pushed Mark Stimson`s side all the way in the second half, finally getting their reward in the final minute when Jake Turner kept his cool to convert a last-gasp penalty to earn parity.

The point leaves Thurrock five points behind leaders AFC Sudbury with two games in hand, while Regent stay in eighth place, two points adrift of the top five.
