Tuesday's Ryman North action review

By David Watters

Already-relegated Redbridge virtually put an end to Cheshunt`s top five hopes in the Ryman North on Tuesday night after the sides drew 1-1, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Fifth-placed AFC Hornchurch`s superior goal difference means a point from one of their last two matches will ensure them a top five finish above the Ambers who were reduced to ten-men five minutes before half-time when striker Liam Hope was shown a straight red card.

Jay Knight broke the deadlock to give the Motormen a 73rd minute lead before Cheshunt grabbed their point with a stoppage time Jason Hallett effort.

Dereham Town won by the odd goal in five at Julius Martin Lane against Soham Town Rangers, who led after five minutes through Ross Paterson.

Ryan Crisp levelled just three minutes later and he scored a second on 38 minutes, sandwiched by an Adam Smith effort on 20 minutes to send the visitors into the break 3-1 up. Ryan Sharman reduced the arrears 10 minutes after the restart but the Deres held on.
