Two new defenders for Invicta

Makhosini Ryan-Khanye and Freddie Barton are new at Folkestone

Folkestone Invicta yesterday confirmed the arrival of defender Makhosini Ryan-Khanye, who has been appearing for the side as a trialist. Makhosini came through the ranks at Brentford, and after leaving Griffin Park played in the SCEFL for Erith and Belvedere before being signed by Bristol City.

Upon leaving City he turned out for Greenwich Borough, and then had two spells at Staines Town, a short time at Whitehawk, and made twenty five appearances for Faversham Town during the ill-fated 19-20 campaign before signing for Maldon & Tiptree just before the even-shorter 20-21 season.

He moved on to Coggeshall Town, and last season played seventeen times for VCD Athletic before moving back to the Deres and winning promotion.

Also signing on was full back Freddie Barton, who last season was along the coast at Pitching In Isthmian Premier rivals Margate, where he made forty two appearances.

Freddie spent the 21-22 campaign with Cray Wanderers, playing thirty two times, after moving to Kent from Bowers and Pitsea.

He had only been at the Len Salmon for a short time, after leaving Charlton Athletic where he had come through the Academy. He spent some time on trial at Watford before joining Bowers.
