Two Romford additions

By Ian Townsend

Three wins and two new signings

Romford added two new signings last week, just before they won their third match in a row with victory at Soham Town Rangers.

Defender Ridwan (Toby) Ajala has spent most of this season with Gary Alexander's Glebe in the SCEFL, although he did play once for Coggeshall Town. He made his debut for Romford on Saturday.

He started his career just along the road from Romford, in Ilford, and went on to be a professional at Hull City, Bristol City, Torquay United and- on loan- at AFC Wimbledon and Cheltenham Town. He has also turned out more recently for Harlow Town, Kingstonian and- last season- Ashford United, making twenty five appearances as they reached the South East Playoff Final.

Midfielder Warren Thomas started this season with East Thurrock United, and has also played for Brightlingsea Regent. He spent time with Ashford Town last season, making fourteen appearances, mainly from the subs bench. He previously turned out in the Isthmian League for Waltham Abbey back in 2016-17, when the Abbotts were in the North Division, and has also played for Staines Town and Metropolitan Police.
