Uhlsport Golden Gloves Awards- December 2023

By Ian Townsend

Here are the FIVE winners of latest Golden Gloves Awards- sponsored by the some of the best goalkeeping equipment in the world, provided by uhlsport

Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played three of those to qualify! Here are our December winners.

Premier Division

It’s rather unsurprising that we’re off to Hornchurch again- but on this occasion, we’re not just off to Hornchurch!

Let’s start with the Urchins though, who pick up our Golden Gloves for the second month in a row. December saw them hold firmly onto their place at the top of the table, keep two clean sheets, and concede only three goals in doing so. Standing confidently between the sticks on each occasion was Joe Wright, so our congratulations go to Joe and his superb defence.

On this occasion, however, we’re also off to the Sussex coast- indeed, we’re Rocking up in Bognor Regis Town. The Rocks had an unbeaten December, also conceded only three goals, and kept a clean sheet in victory over Horsham. Many congrats to all at the MKM Arena on a fine month, and particular congratulations to keeper Ryan Hall and his superb backline.

North Division

We’re making a quick- or should we say swift- trip to the First Call Community Stadium, where we honour the fine defence of Heybridge Swifts, and particularly keeper Thomas Wray. An unbeaten December for Swifts saw them concede only two goals and keep two clean sheets, results which saw them climb into the play off places- and they pick up our Golden Gloves accordingly. Many congratulations to Thomas, and to those who stand in front of him.

South Central Division

We’re off to Fetcham Grove, where we honour the superb defence at Leatherhead. The Tanners played four matches in December, won three of them, drew the other, and kept three clean sheets- indeed we should probably be paying some kind of tribute to Hanworth Villa’s Kyen Nicholas, as he was the only player to find a way through! The Tanners started the month with Toby McKimm between the sticks, and they ended it with Mikey Allen keeping goal, so we’ll leave them to decide where the prize goes.

Congratulations to both keepers, and to their hard working defence.

South East Division

We’re off to the Kent coast again, and it can surprise few people that the winners of our Golden Gloves award are leaders Ramsgate. Wins over Chichester City, Erith & Belvedere and Sevenoaks Town came with clean sheets, and the victory over Herne Bay saw the Rams concede their only goal of the month, and that was scored by a former Ram, Kane Rowland. Tom Hadler has had a superb season, and seems to get better and better.

Many congrats to Tom, and to all who stand in front of him.

Thanks to uhlsport for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.
