James Buckle and Mark Goldfinch leave Ipswich Wanderers

Ipswich Wanderers yesterday announced the departure of management duo James Buckle and Mark Goldfinch.

James and Mark have been in charge at the club for six years, a period during which they've steered their side from Step Six to Step Four- and had it not been for the pandemic they may have got here sooner. Champions in both of the last two seasons, Wanderers are currently bottom of Pitching In isthmian North- but that statistic must be tempered with the fact that they've only played three league matches.

A club statement explained:

'The club can confirm that after a meeting last night between the board and the managers, James Buckle and Mark Goldfinch have now left the club by mutual consent. The club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both for their hard work and outstanding achievements during their tenure.

The club will make further statements regarding the first team management in due course.'

Wanderers have recently recorded victories in the Velocity Cup and Suffolk Cup. They travel to Brentwood Town on Saturday.
