Wands v Tags- tonight!

Cray Wanderers host our Premier Friday Night, with Hashtag United the visitors

We’re taking a trip down Hayes Lane in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier this evening, as Cray Wanderers welcome Hashtag United- fourteenth v tenth.

There are eight points between the sides, but both seem to be safe from being involved in any end of season drama. Any relegation worries Wands may have had earlier in the campaign are banished to the back of the memory banks, and they are entirely safe, so can just enjoy their football- and with their impending move to their new ground for the forthcoming season this should be their penultimate match at Hayes Lane. They’ve only one win- and three defeats- from their last six, and will hope to put an end to that run and give their fans some more positive Hayes Lane memories, as well as achieving revenge for their narrow defeat against the Tags in December.

That win for United saw a goal from Luke May-Parrott, who has been in fine form. That was his first of the season, and since then he has added twelve more, and his thirteen goals have certainly been lucky for the Tags, as they’ve lost only once when he has scored, a crazy five-four loss against Bognor Regis Town in January. United start the day nine points away from the top five with only four matches remaining, so barring a miracle are facing a mid table finish, but they’ve been a fine addition to our top flight and delivered many sublime performances- and with only one defeat from their last nine matches they might not be finished yet. They are looking for a third win in a row, and scored five goals in each of the last two.
