Wednesday Night Football: A South Central special

By Ian Townsend

We've Eagles v Swans and Rovers v Reds this evening

Tonight our action all comes from Pitching In isthmian South Central, as Walton & Hersham take their promotion hopes to struggling Bedfont Sports, whilst Sutton Common Rovers and Uxbridge play a mid-table battle at Whyteleafe.

The Swans start the night in second place, seven points behind leaders Northwood with two games in hand. They've been a little up and down of late, finding it hard to sustain a winning run, but they did get back to winning ways at the weekend against Westfield and have striker Eddie Simon in fine form, with seven goals in his last eight matches and eleven for the season. Sports have had a rather torrid time, and are second from bottom with only one league win to show for their efforts. They've taken two points from their last twenty four.

Uxbridge, in twelfth place, will be flying high after their giant killing exploits against Dover Athletic in the FA Trophy on Saturday, but if they are found dreaming about their next round tie at Dagenham & Redbridge then hosts Sutton Common Rovers are likely to bring them down to earth with a bump. Rovers are a point behind, and have won their last two at home whilst losing their last two away. They'll hope to make Church Road (Whyteleafe) a fortress once more.

Both matches start at 7.45 PM.
