It took only four minutes for the visitors to take the lead when Mitchell Pinnock's cross found Nick Wheeler in oceans of space and he beat unleashed a shot to beat keeper Louis Wells.
Then, with half-time approaching Tonbridge struck the killer blow to effectively kill off the game, defender Sonny Miles finishing off a headed ball back across goal from Laurence Ball after Pinnock's in-swinging corner.
Angels won't care that the second half was no spectacle with the victory lifting them into third place, just three points behind leaders Canvey Island, who have played three more games.

Wednesday`s other game was a Sussex derby between second-bottom Lewes and top-five chasing Burgess Hill Town at the Dripping Pan.
And it saw the visitors secure their first `double` of the season, having beaten their local rivals in the reverse fixture four weeks previously.
Chris Smith gave Hill the lead after 11 minutes when he picked up a loose ball after Will Miles` effort was blocked. But just as it looked like the Hillians would go into half-time with their slender advantage in tact, George Brown headed his side level from Leon Redwood’s corner.
What turned out to be the winner came after 76 minutes when Lee Harding`s first-time effort took a wicked deflection to lift the ball over the grounded Chris Winterton and into the back of the net.
