Lighting man's funeral on Friday

By David Watters

The funeral of Clive Mumford, the Ryman League's long-standing electrical contractor, is taking place at lunchtime on Friday at Our Lady and Saint John Catholic Church in Sudbury.

Well-known to officials at many clubs as the league's main electrical contractor and floodlighting specialist for many years, Mr Mumford passed away earlier this month.

Mourners attending the 1pm service are asked not to send flowers. Donations, if desired, should be made payable to ‘Phoenix Homes Colchester’ and sent to the East of England Co-Operative Funeral Service, Cornard Road, Sudbury, CO10 2XA.

The Ryman League sent its condolences to the family and friends of Mr Mumford last week after league officials were saddened to learn of his passing. He had been based in Sudbury since 1972 and as well as floodlighting, also provided security and emergency lighting services to the sports industry.
