Where's Sammy?

Last season Sam Bantick wandered around so much we should have issued him with a red and white striped jumper and a bobble hat. Where's he got to now?

After a North Division campaign which saw Sam Bantick score goals for fun and play for three of the four playoff semi-finalists, the news that he was leaving Aveley at the end of last season didn't come as much of a surprise. But after a summer of speculating about where he would end up, today we got the answer, as he signed for BetVictor Premier Division Enfield Town.

The Towners hosted a prestigious pre-season fixture last night, taking on FC United of Manchester at Donkey Lane, and Bantick started as he will undoubtedly mean to go on, playing a prominent role as his new side roared to a three-one victory. Josh Davidson and Billy Bricknell (2) got the goals, but the new signing, wearing the number eleven shirt, had a hand in all of them and surely it won't be long before he's finding the net in his own right.
