Barden to Bury

Young Norwich City keeper heads to Ram Meadow

It is being reported by the Bury Free Press that Bury Town have signed young Norwich City keeper Daniel Barden on a season-long loan.

Barden- who is apparently six foot five so opposition strikers will need to keep the ball on the floor and cross their fingers- began his career with Arsenal, moving to their (now) Premier League rivals in January. He is highly rated, but this will be his first experience of senior football.

Town manager Ben Chenery, speaking to the paper- and you can read the article here-stated:

"Norwich are really keen on him and have high hopes for him.

"As a goalkeeper you need to play and with the teams they have available for him at the minute: the first team and the under-23s, his opportunities are going to be limited.

He has got all the qualities to be successful going forward and senior football is only going to aid his development."

Where next?

Where's Sammy? Last season Sam Bantick wandered around so much we should have issued him with a red and white striped jumper and a bobble hat. Where's he got to now?
