Will Becks hit the top five?

By Ian Townsend

We’ve two matches in Pitching In Isthmian South East tonight, and two sides in Velocity Cup action. It’s our preview.

Beckenham Town became the first side to inflict defeat on Whitehawk at the weekend, and tonight they face another Sussex seaside side, as they travel to take on Littlehampton Town. The Golds are four points and two places below their visitors, but are also in good form, with only one defeat from their last seven in all competitions- and, of course, they defeated leaders Ramsgate on Saturday, so they’ll be full of confidence as they kick off tonight. Becks have taken seven points from their last nine- four of them from sides above them in the table- and another win tonight will take them above Cray Valley PM into fifth.

Sheppey United are one of our form sides, four matches unbeaten and with three wins. Warren Mfula is on fire, with seven goals- including two hat tricks- in his last four matches. They welcome Burgess Hill Town, the Hillians having seen their own form take a dip over recent weeks, with two defeats in their last three. They are, however, better on the road than they are at home in this campaign.

In the Velocity Cup, Sevenoaks Town will hope to get back to winning ways and slay another giant as they travel to Herne Bay, whilst Whitehawk also face Premier opposition, as Hastings United arrive at the Enclosed Ground.
