A Blues trio

By Ian Townsend

Prior to Tuesday's match with Witham, Brentwood announced three new arrivals

Brentwood Town haven't had the start to the season they might have liked- or the rest of us might have expected- but prior to Tuesday night's narrow Trophy defeat at Witham Town they announced the arrival of George Craddock, Correy Davidson and Archie Edwards, and gave debuts to the first two.

Midfielder George returns to the club, having not been away very long. He made forty one appearances last season as Town made the Pitching In Isthmian North Play Off Final. Prior to his time at Town he featured for Canvey Island, part of the squad who reached the North Division Playoff Final in 2017-18. He has also turned out for Heybridge Swifts, Bishop's Stortford, East Thurrock United and Potters Bar Town, amongst others.

Correy, also a midfielder, started the campaign with Grays Athletic. He returned to Grays from AFC Sudbury, where he ended last season after signing in March. The midfielder had been plying his trade two levels higher, with National League South side Braintree Town.

Correy previously played for Grays, and also spent time with Witham Town, Bowers and Pitsea and Coggeshall Town, He played Premier football with Bishop's Stortford, making twelve appearances during 2021-22 before moving on to Braintree.

Higher still, as well as the Irons he has also spent time with Concord Rangers and Kidderminster Harriers.

Archie, a defender, came through the youth setup at Charlton Athletic and, after loan spells at Bognor Regis Town and Eastbourne Borough found himself at Hornchurch. He was a big part of Bishop's Stortford's success last season, playing twenty four times, and also made three appearances this season before departing last week.
