A Cup for the young Millers...

...commiserations to Marlow and Westfield. It was Cup Final Tuesday and Cray Valley PM take the plaudits

We had three Cup Finals involving our clubs last night, and Cray Valley PM were the big winners, triumphing in the Isthmian Youth Champion of Champions Final at Bedfont Sports last night.

The young Millers, champions of the Youth East Division, took on Worthing, who triumphed in the Youth South Division. We expected a close match, but we didn't get one, the side in green sweeping all before them to cruise to a four-nil triumph. Mal Turner and Alex Jones gave the Millers a two goal lead at the break, and in the second half Johnny Lawson added two more- perhaps a little unfair on the Mackerel Men who were on top for much of the last forty five minutes. Congratulations to all at Cray Valley- image from David Carter.

We had two of our senior sides in action in Cup Finals, and both sadly returned home empty handed despite strong displays. Marlow took on Bracknell Town in the Berks & Bucks County Cup Final, and fell to a narrow defeat, a deflected goal just after the restart giving the Robins the triumph. Down in Aldershot, Westfield took on Badshot Lea in the Aldershot Senior Cup Final, and sadly fell to a two-nil defeat.
