Margate have announced the signing of Billericay Town's towering centre back Lewis Knight.
Knight joined the Billericay Blues last summer, having moved over from National League South rivals Maidstone United. he also had some time on loan with St Albans City during his period with the Stones, having signed from the club from City, for whom he played during the 2018-19 season. He'll not be entiely unknown to Isthmian watchers, as he spent a little time with East Thurrock United, and also turned out for our late lamented Thamesmead Town back in 2016-17.
He also played for Welling United and Concord Rangers.
Manager Jay Saunders told the club website:
“Lewis is a character who will bring a lot both on and off the pitch, I think he’s someone our younger players can learn a lot from, and he is a player I expect to become a real leader and favourite in a Gate shirt.”
