Ambers bring in Cronin

By Ian Townsend

Cheshunt sign Wingate legend

Cheshunt have signed Wingate & Finchley defender Sean Cronin, who was an unused substitute yesterday as the Ambers fell to a late home defeat against Margate.

Cronin had made six appearances for the Blues this season before his departure, and was a legend at Summers Lane. In 2018-19 he appeared forty four times and, rather unusually for a centre back, also scored fourteen goals- a better record than most strikers! Included in this haul was a hat trick against Harlow Town and a brace against both Hemel Hempstead Town in the FA Trophy and Brentford in the London County Cup.

That followed nine goals in fifty one appearances in 2017-18, and six in forty six the previous campaign.

Prior to joining Wingate & Finchley Sean turned out for clubs including Grays Athletic and Wealdstone.
