Athletic receive local recognition

Grays acknowledged for local efforts

Back in the summer the BetVictor Isthmian League awarded Grays Athletic our Community Club of the Year Award- and now their local authority, Thurrock Council, have also stepped up to acknowledge the clubs community efforts with a special award of their own.

The club received the award from Thurrock Council Mayor, Councillor Terry Piccolo, after the council discussed their role in the community at a recent meeting and decided that recognition was due. Terry visited Parkside to make a presentation and acknowledge their work when Athletic hosted Heybridge Swifts in the F A Cup on 24 August.

Since becoming supporter owned and run in 2016, the club has made great efforts to become more involved in the local area, building ties with schools, youth clubs and the community as a whole.
