Sussex departs the Bees

Basildon United have announced that manager John Sussex has resigned following yesterday's defeat at Cambridge City.

Sussex took over the Bees hotseat back in March, moving to Basildon after being part of the coaching setup at Witham Town. He leaves with the club in 19th place in the North Division, but in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy after an excellent win over Step Three Chesham United just over a week ago.

The club explained, via social media, that they wished to decline his resignation, but that he would not be moved.
