We asked supporters of our BetVictor Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.
Darren Gibbs spends a great deal of his life in Blakey’s Shed. He’s also Sittingbourne’s representative in our survey.
1. What was your favourite moment of last season?
Darren and Brickies
The 2-0 win against Faversham Town in the FA Trophy.
2. And your worst moment?
I try not to remember the bad times- but going out of the FA Cup early always hurts.
3. How will you do this season?
I definitely feel we will achieve a top half finish, and perhaps push for the play offs.
4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?
We are looking forward to some of the away matches. Guernsey of course, Ashford United, and any of the teams a few miles from Greenwich. We always go for the pie and mash at Goddards and a few beers in Greenwich market.
5. What is your favourite away ground?
Faversham Town. It’s always loud there.
6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?
Ashford United, although it would be Sheppey United if they were in our League.
7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?
They should expect banter and plenty of chanting from Blakey's Shed. They should feel free to come and join us, too!
8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?
Hicham Akhazzan for the simple fact that it felt like he was around for decades. Even though he is now at Sheppey he is still a favourite.
9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?
Hastings Utd, Hythe Town, Ashford United, Herne Bay, Cray Valley PM
