BetVictor Isthmian League- supporters predictions 2019/20: Coggeshall Town

We’re heading back North on this occasion, where we visit the Seed Growers.

We asked supporters of our BetVictor Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Richard Buckby is next up in our series of supporters predictions, and he’s giving us the lowdown on title favourites Coggeshall Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Tough question, with lots of memorable moments. But in terms of a team performance, the away wins against Heybridge Swifts and Maldon & Tiptree were impressive.

2. And your worst moment?

Without doubt, losing the play-off semi-final. But, it’ll only spur us on this season..

3. How will you do this season?

I would expect us to improve upon last season, so anywhere in the top 3 would be a superb achievement.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

I look forward to meeting new clubs, so Histon & Cambridge City fit the bill in that regard.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

In terms of the best hospitality, it has to be Parkside, regardless of whether Aveley or Grays are at home.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

If we are talking mileage, it would have to be Witham - I know their super fan, James Beardwell always looks forward to our battles and we did play them a lot last season.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Arrive early, get in the bar... Suzy will make you feel welcome and don’t leave without having a sausage roll - believe me!

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

I haven’t been here long, but based on last year alone, it has to be Nnamdi Nwachuku or George Cocklin for very different reasons. Nnamdi’s goal scoring record speaks for itself, and every time he has the ball at his feet it makes you get off your seat with excitement. Cocklin on the other hand was the engine that made the SeedGrowers tick last season and with another seasons experience, I expect him to be one of the leaders on the pitch this coming season.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Coggeshall Town, Histon, Aveley, Maldon & Tiptree, Heybridge Swifts

[b]Right, you've read Richard’s views, and there will only be one more to go- we’re off to Basildon later! Tomorrow we’ll run the predicted North Division table, followed by the South Central and South East on Saturday morning before the big kick off. Then on Sunday, we’ll bring you your favourite grounds. Thanks to all who have got involved over the last month or so.
