BetVictor Supporters Predictions- South East Division: The Final Outcome

By Ian Townsend

The people have spoken- and here is their predicted final league table for the BetVictor Isthmian South East Division 2019-20.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been presenting you with the views of supporters across the BetVictor Isthmian League, as they reviewed the season past and looked forward to the one about to start. As part of that process we’ve been highlighting their choices of who will finish in the top five, but what you might not know is that we’ve also been asking them to predict the entire final league table, from one to twenty. So we’ve got out the BetVictor Isthmian abacus, taken off our shoes and socks and finalised the maths, and it's time to channel your inner Nostradamus!

So you believe it will be all hail the Nuts and Bolts at the end of the season, as you are absolutely convinced that last season’s Playoff Finalists Ashford United will take the crown this time around.

The Playoffs will then have a strongly Sussex flavour if your predictions come true, with Hastings United, Burgess Hill Town and Haywards Heath Town making up three quarters of the competition. After just missing out in 2017-18 and not being far away in 2018-19, you expect this season to finally see Hythe Town force their way into the top five, too.

It would be difficult to fit a wafer-thin mint between the sides you’ve placed from sixth to ninth, but you believe that Whitehawk, Ramsgate, Whyteleafe and VCD Athletic will just miss out on a shot at end of season glory. That’s an incentive for all four of them.

At the wrong end of the table, you think that Three Bridges will be the side to face a relegation playoff- but only just. You had very little faith in the survival abilities of Faversham Town and Guernsey, too- but it was noticeable that your thoughts about the Green Lions changed positively after the return of Ross Allen was confirmed recently.

So there you go! We’ll revisit these predictions at the end of the season to see how you did, and undoubtedly a few managers will be sticking them on the dressing room wall tomorrow afternoon to inspire their sides to do better.

Thanks to all who participated, it was great fun reading your thoughts and we appreciate the time you took to share them with us.
