One in, one out for Ramsgate

There were two transfer announcements from Ramsgate last night, one concerning a departure, the other an arrival.

The first news was that goalkeeper Luke Watkins has moved the distance of a marathon (that's the running race, not the old chocolate bar packed with peanuts), heading 26.2 miles along the road to Faversham Town. Luke was an ever-present for the Rams last season, making forty six appearances, and indeed has been a virtual ever-present as the last line of their defence for a number of years. Read more here.

Inbound is Kingstonian midfielder Aaron Lamont. Aaron was one of the few players who started the last campaign with the K's and was still there at the end, making 41 appearances under a succession of managers, and scoring two goals. The player started life at Queens Park Rangers, and he has also turned out for Truro City, Hampton & Richmond Borough. A little more than two months ago he was unveiled as a new signing by Braintree Town, so this move appears to be something of a coup for the Rams, as they look towards a promotion push.
