Bowers sign an international goalkeeper!

Johnson heads to Pitsea from the Island

Canvey Island goalkeeper Lamar Johnson was last night revealed as the latest new signing for Rob Small's Bowers and Pitsea, joining new arrivals Alex Bentley and James White to make up a formidable trio- and we've been promised that the trio will become a quartet some time today!

Johnson, who made his debut for Saint Lucia in a victory against the Dominican Republic last November, made twenty nine appearances for the Gulls last season, including two against his new club in the FA Cup- a tie which Canvey eventually lost in a penalty shootout after two one-one draws. He previously had three spells at Aveley, two at Grays Athletic, and also played for Concord Rangers, Romford, Hertford Town and Basildon United, amongst others.
