Double Kingfishers

We're catching up on the remaining transfers which were announced prior to last week's deadline day. There were quite a number, and with the amount of football we had over the Easter weekend we're a little behind!

Thatcham Town announced two Deadline Day deals, with the arrivals of William Gutierrez Ramirez and Callum Winchcombe.

William is a defensive midfielder who comes in- we suspect on loan- from Reading. He is an important part of their Under 18 side, and was recently in action against Manchester City in the 5th Round of the FA Youth Cup, impressing as his side sadly fell to a two-one defeat. He played against the Kingfishers for Reading in pre-season.

Full back Callum will be far more familiar to South Central audiences, as he was part of the triumphant title winners at Basingstoke Town last season. Callum joined Basingstoke from Swindon Town in the summer of 2022, after being with Town since the age of eleven. Whilst at the County Ground he had loan spells at Highworth Town and Chippenham Town. he made thirty eight appearances for our champions last season.

Callum played both of the Kingfishers Easter fixtures, and William made a debut in Monday's draw with Chertsey Town.
