Edwards, Carnegie and Chaney new at the Scholars

Preston Edwards, Harrison Carnegie and Sam Chaney arrive at Potters Bar Town

Potters Bar Town yesterday announced two additions to their squad for the forthcoming season, with the arrivals of goalkeeper Preston Edwards, winger Harrison Carnegie and midfielder/ occasional full back Sam Chaney.

Sam came through the ranks at Torquay United before graduating to the first team squad, and spending time on loan at Bideford, Waltham Abbey and Whitehawk. He moved onto Enfield Town for 2018-19, playing thirty two times and scoring four goals- including one in the Velocity Cup Final win over Hornchurch- before heading to Ware. His career has since been troubled by injury, but he managed a consistent run of games last season and was a big part of the squad which reached the Pitching In Southern Central Play Off Final.

Preston Edwards needs little introduction. The keeper was a big part of Cheshunt's promotion at the end of the 21-22 campaign, and spent last season keeping goal for the Ambers in National League South. He also played National League football for Braintree Town and Dartford, but will be perhaps best known to Isthmian watchers for his time with Dulwich Hamlet, where he made a club record sixty six appearances during the 2016-17 campaign, and approaching two hundred appearances in total.

His other clubs include Millwall, Dover Athletic, Grays Athletic, Ebbsfleet United and Boreham Wood.

Harrison Carnegie moves to the Scholars after spending last season with Bowers & Pitsea, where he made twenty two appearances- scoring in that crazy match at Wingate & Finchley. He also played part of the last campaign at Faversham Town, playing six times.

He joined the Lilywhites from Whitstable Town, started last season with Brightlingsea Regent, and has also turned out for Sevenoaks Town, Sheppey United, Walthamstow and Whyteleafe, amongst others.
