Canvey Island last night announced the signings of a winger and a defender- the last of whom will be known to North Division audiences.
The winger, Samrai Gebrai, makes the step up from step five Walthamstow, where he was scoring as recently as last Saturday as his side defeated Sporting Bengal in the FA Cup. He seems to be rather highly-rated, so it may be time for him to terrorise North Division defences the way he has those in the Essex Senior League.
Samrai is joined by Dan Humphreys, who you may recall spent some time on loan at Aveley last season, a three match spell that ended when he picked up a red card against Tilbury. Previously he spent some time with Lowestoft Town, and he joins the Gulls after leaving Southend United, where he had been playing for the Under 21's, having signed aged ten. Still only nineteen, he will undoubtedly have a lot to offer- and can play in defence or midfield.
