Five New Sports

By Ian Townsend

Jaevon Dyer, Hedley Ogbebor, Temi Oladejo, Ali Mansaray and Luke Medley are new at Phoenix Sports

Phoenix Sports added a collection of new players to their squad prior to Saturday's defeat against Lancing.

We told you about Jamie Watson last week, so let's start with Jaevon Dyer, a winger who comes in from Dorking Wanderers on loan. Forward Jaevon, who wasn't in Saturday's squad, actually started the campaign on loan at Saturday's opponents, and made seven appearances before returning to the Wands. He has other previous Isthmian experience, as he made four Pitching In isthmian Premier appearances for Corinthian-Casuals a couple of seasons ago, but he was with Epsom and Ewell last season, scoring a dozen goals as his side won promotion- including two in the Play Off Final.

Hedley Ogbebor, a centre back, played Under 19 football for National League Aldershot Town before taking the step up to Peterborough United. He then moved on to play for Biggleswade Town and Berkhamsted.

Temi Oladejo, a full back, spent last season playing in our North Division, first for Brightlingsea Regent and later for East Thurrock United. Temi previously turned out for the likes of Dunstable Town, Herne Bay, Sittingbourne, East Grinstead Town, Potton United, Egham Town, Aylesbury FC, London Colney, Northwood, Amersham Town and Chesham United. He spent the 21-22 season in the SCEFL with Fisher, making thirty seven appearances.

Ali Mansaray, a defender, came through the Academy at Dartford and signed first team forms at the start of last season. He played in both the Kent Senior Cup Final and Kent Academy Cup Final during the 21-22 campaign, and indeed scored the Darts second goal in the former, a six-two win over Folkestone Invicta at the BuildKent Stadium. Last season he spent time at Sheppey United, and also made nine appearances for Westfield. He joined Cheshunt in the summer, but doesn't seem to have played.

Luke Medley, a striker, has a great deal of experience. Luke spent time in the Academies at Barnet and Tottenham Hotspur, before making it into the professional game with Bradford City. He also played first team football with Cambridge United, Barnet, Mansfield Town, Aldershot Town and Lincoln City, before moving into the Non League game, where he turned out for a collection of clubs including Woking, Bromley, Hayes and Yeading United, Margate and Cray Wanderers. More recently he spent time with Lordswood, Whitstable Town and Erith & Belvedere.
