Hoban for Hornchurch

By Ian Townsend

Former Watford defender Tommie Hoban is new at Hornchurch

Hornchurch have announced the signing off defender Tommie Hoban, who returns to football after a couple of years away.

Tommie retired from the game to become a Financial Planner after a string of injuries- as reported in the Financial Times. Prior to that retirement, he came through the ranks at Watford (after originally being part of the youth setup at Arsenal), having a loan spell at Wealdstone before becoming an established first team player. He had loans at Blackburn Rovers and Aberdeen before deciding to move to the Granite City permanently, and after returning from North of the Border spent a little time with Crewe Alexandra before that retirement.

He has played international football for the Republic of Ireland at Under seventeen, Under 19 and Under 21 level.
