Horsham's winning streak comes to an end as Cray Wanderers climb the table

Horsham went into last night's match at Cray Wanderers in fantastic form, with six consecutive league wins under their belts- but reputation counted for nothing as their hosts ran out deserved winners at Hayes Lane.

The opening goal came from debutant Kyel Reid- more about him in another article later- just after the quarter hour mark, and no matter how much effort the travelling Lardy Army made to inspire their team the equaliser wasn't coming. Thirteen minutes from time Chris Dickson got his second goal of the campaign, being the first to react after Sam Howes saved from Jamie Yila, and five minutes later Yila, who has been in fine form of late, made it three. That's six for the season for Jamie.

There was time for Charlie Harris to get a goal back from the spot just before the end, but it was little consolation for the Hornets, for whom manager Dom Di Paola was marking his three hundredth competitive match in charge. Wands climb out of the bottom three with those three points, and host Bishop's Stortford on Saturday.

Stortford are unbeaten in fourteen matches, so Wands will need to end another impressive record if they are to continue their recovery.
