Pitching In Isthmian Supporters predictions 23-24: Beckenham Town

1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

There were so many, but it has to be the victory away at Dartford in the FA Cup. We were superb and fully deserved the win. We knew the team we had was special, but that result really put the club on the map.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Littlehampton Town away. A long, long journey on a filthy Tuesday night in bleak November. Three down after half an hour and it could have been double that. At least we drew the second half!

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Many candidates, but left back Archie Johnson was superb from start to finish and was named in the division’s team of the season. Unfortunately for us this got the attention of Margate who signed him! He will be sorely missed.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 2023-24 campaign?

Winger Ibrahim Jalloh was a canny signing from Haywards Heath last season, and has looked really promising in pre-season.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

We have lost some key players this summer whilst others have flexed their financial muscles, so it will be tough for us to replicate last season’s play off finish. But we still have quality in the side and can usually unearth a gem or two, so we should be good for a top 10 finish.

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

All of the new grounds. Three old friends from our Kent League days and two new counties to venture to.

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Ramsgate have a great setup. Plenty of spots for a few post-game refreshments too.

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

East Grinstead Town. Burger served in a toasted English muffin with cheese melted to perfection. Warmed the cockles on a freezing day.
