Brentwood sign the striker who ended their promotion bid

Brentwood Town have announced the signing of Canvey Island striker Matthew Price- only a few weeks after he ended their promotion ambitions by scoring a panenka penalty in a shootout win for the Gulls.

Matthew had a magnificent season for Canvey, scoring thirty two times- including the equaliser in the Play Off Final after his new club had taken the lead. He had previously been more kind against the Blues- that was his first goal against them in three attempts last season.

He was previously with Coggeshall Town, East Thurrock United, and famously Heybridge Swifts, where he scored twenty two goals in 2018-19, and thirty six the season before (half for Brentwood, coincidentally), winning the Golden Boot. He previously played for Horsham and Tooting & Mitcham United.
