Prize draw planned for fundraising fan who lost son

Herne Bay are hosting a prize draw after they take on Ryman South play-off rivals Whitstable Town on Easter Monday to support the fundraising efforts of a supporter whose teenage son died before Christmas.

After the death his 15-year-old son Josh on 29 December, supporter Paul Oliver set up the Josh Oliver Charity Foundation and he is hoping the post-match raffle - featuring donated prizes worth more than £1000 - will help him give something back to the charity which has been supporting his family and thousands of others, Child Bereavement UK.

With the help of The Personal Trainer Company and Herbalife who are monitoring his efforts, the Bay fan is also slimming for the charity after starting out on an eight week sponsored diet last week with the aim of losing 1.5 stone in weight.

The fundraiser is hoping supporters and other members of the community sponsoring him will hand over £1 for every pound he loses and he is now posting regular updates on his progress on Facebook at www.facebook.com/josholiverfoundation.
