Shot of the Season: Stefan Peck

We asked our fabulous photographers to pick their favourite photograph of the Pitching In Isthmian campaign, and explain why it’s important to them. We’re off to the Suffolk seaside, courtesy of Stefan and Felixstowe.

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

The image is of players celebrating after Billy Holland scored from the half way line, against Basildon Aug 22. He is under there somewhere.

Why is it important to you?

It showed me just how much togetherness the players had. I’m pleased that I'm playing a small part in a very special club, working alongside another fantastic photographer.

Every time I look at the picture it brings a smile to my face and it's one I will cherish.

Where can we find the rest of your work?

On my website, here.

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

The Club asked for a Home match photographer on their twitter feed. I offered to come down and do a match, and it’s turned into every home game.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

I’ve really got the photography bug now, and I’m hopeful that one of my images gets in the NLP (Non League Paper) next season. Several images have been published in the EADT which I'm very proud of.

If you're a photographer who would like to send in their shot of the season, please answer the questions above and email to Ian on townsendaround@gmail.com
