Scott Pethers is new at the Bees

Basildon United have brought in experienced defender Scott Pethers, who has joined the club from Welling Town.

Scott was the skipper of the Saffron Walden Town side which took on Witham Town in a promotion/relegation play off at the end of last season. Prior to his time with the Bloods he was with Great Wakering Rovers, and has also spent time with Burnham Ramblers, Bowers and Pitsea and Witham Town. He left Bowers in 2016 after playing one hundred and seventy four times for the club, mainly as captain.
