Two young Wands

Freddie Carter and Nathan Boamah sign on at Cray

Cray Wanderers have announced the return to the club of goalkeeper Nathan Boamah, and the arrival of centre back Freddie Carter.

Freddie arrives back at the club on loan from Gillingham. He progressed through the youth system at Eastbourne Borough before making the step up to the Gills in March 2021. This isn't his first spell in the Pitching In Isthmian League, as he played on loan for both Lancing and Faversham Town.

Nathan returns to the club from Sutton Common Rovers, for whom he signed in the summer.

He came through the Under 18 setup at Wands, only to be thrust into the first team at the end of last season after the club suffered a keeper crisis. He received rave reviews, making a man of the match debut against promotion chasing Enfield Town in a three-three draw before making more critical saves as Wands effectively preserved their Premier Division status in a four-one hammering of East Thurrock United. He was also in goal as they fell three-one to Bishop's Stortford in the last game of the season, and again reports suggest he delivered an excellent performance.

As well as his time with Wands, he also spent some time on loan at Kent Football United in the SCEFL, and had a trial with Wycombe Wanderers. he doesn't seem to have made a competitive debut for Rovers.
