Witham bring in Colchester defender

Witham Town announced the signing of Colchester United defender Luke Ige on Friday evening, the young full back joining on a one month loan. Town gave him an immediate debut against Cambridge City yesterday, but despite his efforts they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat.

Luke hasn't been with the U's for very long. He signed on in July, after being released by Premier League club Aston Villa- where he was a product of their Academy and had been involved with the first team squad at the start of their Championship promotion-winning season. A two match trial led to him being offered a one year contract at Colchester.
