Wroxham Ryan climbs for charity

Yachtsmen's Ryan Hawkins to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for Little Lifts- the breast cancer charity

Shortly after the season ends, Wroxham's Ryan Hawkins will be swapping his football boots for some walking boots and hoping that the Yorkshire rain holds off (someone give him a flat cap, just in case), as he sets off on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

Within twelve hours Ryan and friends will be tackling Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough- a distance just short of a marathon, although unlike a marathon, most of it uphill! Pen y Ghent is six hundred and ninety four metres high, Whernside is seven hundred and thirty six metres, and Ingleborough seven hundred and twenty three metres, and whilst the views from this part of the Pennines are spectacular, they are usually walked at a rather more sedate pace.

Little Lifts is a fine charity, providing exceptional support to those suffering with breast cancer. You can add to Ryan's total by heading here and hitting the donate button.

Best of luck, Ryan. We do hope that, at the end of your walk, someone rewards you with a fat rascal and some barm brack. You'll deserve it!
