Young guns show new boss what's in the pipeline

Cray Wanderers

New Cray Wanderers manager Tony Russell can look forward to plenty of talent coming through the Ryman North club's youth ranks.

The former VCD Athletic manager, appointed on Wednesday as the successor to Tony Warrilow after keeping the Vickers in the Ryman Premier, will be monitoring the club's U21s after they were crowned as the Kent FA's NRG Gyms U21 Development League champions.

Playing in their first season in the league, Ken Lodge’s team beat Herne Bay 3-2 to lift the trophy after last weekend's play-off final in Sevenoaks, pictured, with goals from Charlie Goodson, Nyron Blackduke and Richard Sesay. Jake Page and Connor Partridge hit back for Herne Bay.
